If you don’t have enough iron, your body can’t make hemoglobin. This protein helps blood carry oxygen throughout your body. With this issue, you may develop anemia. This is known as iron-deficiency anemia, the most common type of anemia.
Iron infusion therapy is a medical procedure used to treat iron deficiency anemia. During the procedure, iron is delivered directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line. This method ensures rapid absorption and can swiftly replenish iron levels in the body. Patients typically experience improved energy levels and overall well-being following treatment.

A medical examination and updated bloodwork must be completed within 30 days of treatment. This can be ordered by your primary care provider and will have to be reviewed by our nurse practitioner.
If you have a prescription, you can pick up the medication at the pharmacy and bring it to your appointment for your infusion.
If you do not have a prescription, you will have to have a consultation with our nurse practitioner to obtain one.
Follow up with your primary care provider to monitor your bloodwork and response to treatment.
Before your treatment:
To receive an Iron Infusion at our clinic, you'll need a referral from your primary care provider, along with blood test results within the last 30 days. These requirements help us understand your current iron levels so we can create a customized treatment plan tailored specifically for you.
Before your iron infusion, appropriate bloodwork and criteria will be reviewed to ensure you are a candidate for this treatment.
Procedure:
An intravenous (IV) catheter will be inserted by an experienced registered nurse. The catheter is connected to the IV bag, which contains the iron solution. The iron is delivered slowly during this time to help prevent reactions to a large dose.
An experienced registered nurse will initiate the treatment and you will be monitored whilst the infusion is taking place.
Cost: $320; if you have a prescription and will be bringing your own medication, an infusion fee of $175 will apply.
Length of Procedure: The iron infusion takes approximately one hour, and you will be monitored for an additional half hour following the treatment.
Treatment Frequency: Typically, a course of iron treatments involves 2-4 sessions.
Side effects: Although most patient tolerate the treatment without any side effects, some experience nausea, headache, dizziness, flushing, metalic taste, muscle aches, joint pain.
Contraindications: We do not offer iron infusion for pregnant women.
